Rawlinson Crescent Park Renewal Project

The City of Regina is planning to transform Rawlinson Crescent Park. The space will be expanded to include a regulation-sized cricket field, seasonal washrooms, walking paths and a parking lot. There will also be trees and landscaping, including drainage improvements.

The plan is to rezone and service the site and do detailed design work in 2026. Construction will occur in 2027 as weather, construction schedules and budget allow.

  • Rezoning Approved

On March 25, 2026, City Council approved the rezoning of 4025 Parliament Avenue to support future commercial development. With the rezoning complete, work can now begin on the design for underground services (water, sewer and storm sewer) that will be shared between the commercial development and the expanded Rawlinson Crescent Park.

This drawing shows the circular park space and a conceptual layout for the commercial land around it.

Design work and tendering of underground services will occur in late 2026, as will marketing and the sale of the commercial land. Tendering and construction of the underground services are expected to be complete by the end of June 2027. This timing aligns with the planned construction of the park which will begin in late spring 2027 and extend into Fall 2027 or Spring 2028, depending on weather.

  • Park Design Update

After engagements with residents whose properties back onto the park, the Albert Park Community Association and Regina Cricket Association, City staff have revised the design plan to include the following changes:

    • The cricket field has been shifted 10 metres north and rotated 45 degrees from north-south orientation to northwest-southeast orientation.
    • The multi-use path alignment has been adjusted and moved north approximately 7 metres.
    • A planting strip and swale have been added to the west side of the park at the church parking lot.
    • The berm between the field and the residences has been increased to a maximum height of 3 metres.
    • Hill seating, team shelters and the washroom location have been adjusted to accommodate the new alignment of the cricket field.
    • An additional 100 trees have been included, which brings the proposed number of trees to over 300.

  • A Cricket Field and Amenities for All

Cricket is a growing sport in Regina. A lack of cricket fields was identified as a need when the City’s Recreation Master Plan was developed, and Rawlinson Crescent Park is an opportunity to fill this gap. The project will include a regulation-sized field that supports tournament and league play.

The project will also make the space more vibrant and attractive. Planned amenities such as accessible washrooms, walking paths, trees, seating, and a parking lot will benefit everyone who uses the park.
