How is the community being engaged about this project?
In June 2025, the City held an information session and discussed the project with residents whose properties are immediately adjacent to the park. Information gathered from that session will influence the design. Additional discussions with stakeholders will occur in summer 2025.
Will the park remain open throughout this project?
It is anticipated that the current park space will continue to be open until 2027 when construction is planned. The park is planned to open for residents and the public to use the pathways in summer 2028 and for scheduled play on the cricket field in summer 2029.
When will construction start?
It is anticipated that construction will occur in spring or summer of 2027.
How soon will we get to use the new amenities?
The new pathways are scheduled to open in summer 2028 and scheduled play should begin on the cricket field in summer 2029.
Why does the site need to be rezoned?
This land needs to be subdivided and incorporated into the current park before development can begin.
