On March 20, 2024, Regina City Council approved the continuation of the Electric Scooter Program, allowing for both shared and personal e-scooters to continue being used within the city.
Shared E-Scooters (rental) are operated by two permitted companies, BIRD Canada and Neuron Mobility, and are expected to be in operation between May 1 and October 31, weather permitting.
E-scooters are a great way to get around our city and provide an alternate mode of transportation. The City of Regina has a goal to become a renewable, net zero City by 2050 and adding e-scooters as a transportation option is one way of helping to achieve this.
Please remember, helmets are mandatory and riders must be a minimum of 16 years old. E-scooters are allowed on park and multi-use pathways, bike lanes, and on roads that have a speed limit of 50 km/hr or less. E-scooters are not allowed on sidewalks and are limited to a maximum speed limit of 24 km/hr on roadways and 15 km/hr on pathways.
Share roads and pathways, be aware of your surroundings, and scoot safe!

With the end of the first e-scooter season, the City of Regina sought feedback about resident experiences with e-scooters in the form of a survey. This information was used to evaluate the program and guide any required adjustments for next season.
Feedback from the e-scooter survey will be considered alongside data from e-scooter companies, the Regina Police Service, and the Saskatchewan Health Authority to inform a council report in early 2024.
As of April, residents were able to use their personal e-scooters in Regina. In late June, a shared e-scooter program was launched by two permitted companies, BIRD Canada and Neuron Mobility. As cooler weather began, shared e-scooters were slowly removed from the streets beginning October 15.

Bird and Neuron are the two vendors that provided the shared e-scooter service in Regina. Together, these two vendors operated up to 500 shared e-scooters for the 2023 season. Data from both e-scooter companies showed there were 51,259 trips taken on e-scooters and over 130,000 km's in distance travelled throughout the months of July and August in Regina.
To learn more about where e-scooters can ride, rental locations and costs, download the vendor apps through the Apple Store, Google Play, or visit the vendor's website.
If you encounter any issues related to e-scooters, please contact the vendor directly to report.
E-scooters are now permitted in Regina. These are a fun, sustainable wayfor residents and visitors to get around our city.
The use of personal e-scooters waspermitted as of April 26, 2023.
Shared e-scooters are officially here, and are available to rent through the vendor’s apps. See below.

In September 2022, SGI released the Limited Speed Motor Vehicle Regulations, which allows for Saskatchewan municipalities to amend their own traffic bylaws to allow for e-scooters to operate on public right of way.
