  • Community Fire Pits

    Extend your stay and play this winter! Community Fire Pits will help residents enjoy, stay and play in the outdoors for longer periods by offering a warm-up station and an additional light source in the winter months. Firepits are available noon to 11 p.m. daily and residents wishing to use the firepits are asked to bring their own seasoned firewood.

    Firepit Safety Tips

    • Always check if there is a fire ban before starting a fire

    • One adult (19 +) must be present and in charge of the fire 

    • Use kindling or newspaper to start the fire safely

    • Do not ignite fire with lighter fluid, gasoline or alcohol

    • Use your own clean seasoned firewood or manufactured fire logs

    • Keep small children and pets 3 feet away from the fire

    • Have a water source to quickly put out the fire if needed 

    • Have a first aid kit on hand

    • Put out fire before you leave

    • Put litter in designated receptacles or take it home

    • Do not use trees or park materials in the firepit

  • Crokicurl

    Take the classic Canadian board game Crokinole and combine it with the favorite Saskatchewan pastime of curling and you get crokicurl! A game for people of all ages and abilities. View the rules.

    Crokicurl is run by select Community Associations and is available for free. Residents can access crokicurl during supervised hours at the following rinks:

    • McVeety Park - Hillsdale Community Association

    • Ruth M Buck Park - Northwest Community Association

    • McDermid Rink - NorthEast Community Association

    • Rink at City Square (Pat Fiacco Plaza) – RDBID

    • Gocki Park Rink – Al Ritchie Community Association

    Residents are asked to avoid skating on the crokicurl playing surface.

  • Cross-country Ski Trails

    The City’s cross-country ski trail at the Tor Hill golf course is open once again this year. The 9 km trail has beginner, intermediate and expert areas. The trail is loopy like flower petals to allow less experienced skiers to get off at different intervals, depending personal fitness for distance. The trail offers a double wide path with the choice of a skate skiing track or a classic cross-country ski track. The trail is open daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting. Groomed fat bike trails will also be introduced during the 2023/24 winter season.


    Regina Ski Club
    The Regina Ski Club offers over 35km of Nordic ski trails in and around Regina for all ages. They offer programs, events and trips for beginner, recreational, competitive and adaptive skiers. They have also introduced groomed walking trails.

    We offer eight indoor arenas, 50 outdoor skating rinks and six shinny sites.

    Mount Pleasant Sport Park Long Track Oval
    Open to public Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 4 to 11 p.m.
    *No public access Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
    Please note that no figure skates or hockey sticks are allowed.

  • Tobogganing

    Come out to one of the City's 19 designated toboggan hills.
    Toboggan at your own risk. Helmets are highly recommended. Do not walk up the sledding path. Toboggan areas are not maintained or supervised. In case of emergency, call 9-1-1. Stay safe and have fun!

    If a winter picnic is your thing, grab your hot cocoa and head out to one of the four winter BBQ sites offered by the city. We will clear the snow but you'll need to provide briquettes, cozy blankets and hot dogs.
