As the sun reappears and the temperatures rise, it’s time to say farewell to our beloved winter season. Before you pack away your skis and skates, here's a friendly reminder:
🚴♂️ Bike and Ski Trails: Proceed with caution! While the snow is melting, trails can get slushy and slippery. It's like biking on a giant, unpredictable Slurpee! Winter Recreation Trails at Tor Hill Golf Course are closed for the season due to warm and wet conditions.
⛸️ Outdoor Rinks: Mind the puddles! Keep an eye out for soft spots and melting zones. Your safety is our top priority! City Outdoor rinks are now closed as the ice is no longer safe to skate on.
☀️ Stay Safe! Enjoy the last glimmers of winter, and get ready to welcome spring's bloom. 🌷

The best memories is to celebrate christmas time with families in winter time.Got to dress up and take a lot of winter photos.I love to see all the christmas lights and christmas trees. So love to celebrate christmas in our little frosty wonderland...
When I was younger my family and I would always go to French park to sled down the hill. We had a big red sled and a small blue sled. We would sled down the hill for hours until our faces were too cold to continue. Then we would go home and have a warm drink. I miss those days.
Had such a wonderful time at Frost Festival. My granddaughter was so enchanted by the lights and activities. Made our long winter a bit magical and spending the time with my little was priceless
My favorite winter memory is driving around looking at all the beautiful Christmas lights and decorations. As a kid, it just awed me. There were so many! Now, I get to share that joy with my children.
That's about the only good thing about winter I enjoy. *grinch*
I really enjoyed going shopping to the SAAN store. They had sidewalk days and there was a kids play area you could hang out while the parents shopped. I also remember the Sherwood Village Mall and their stores. Lots of memories there and eating breakfast in the cafe in the back of the old coop hardware store attached to the mall. The Normanview shopping center mall was also a place for lots of memories. The stores to shop at and buying school supplies at the end of summer holidays in Zellers was a tradition.
Although Winters in regina is cold and long we enjoy it. An unforgettable memory was the frost festival that was held last year. We loved watching the ice carvings and all the lights. It was great how the previous year (2021 i think) had included features of counties from all over the world. They even issued a passport at the entrance and had a counter at each station where you could get it stamped. At the end of the tour, there was a play area where my son enjoyed playing with other kids. It is a great memory!!
As a little kid, I received a brand new sled for Christmas one year. I remember pulling it behind us as my older brothers & I walked the 2 kilometers down 13th Ave to the Cale Curling Club to go sleding down the creek embankment. With bright shiny new runners on the sled, we went so fast & far. We all struggled to missed the people walking back up the hill & almost hit several different trees & bushes. At one point, I remember shooting through the bullrushes & out onto the ice. It was absolutely thrilling. The day was... Continue reading
I remember as a child going to mount pleasant in the 80s, we had a wooden tobaggan and I remember sitting it in the front of it while my sister and brother sat in the back and down the hill we went. We hit a bump and went flying. It was fun we didn't get hurt cause we were dressed really well lol lots of cushioning.
In the most recent years, now that I'm in my late 40s my favorite Christmas activity is looking at the decorated houses around the city.
One of my most cherished memories from the Regina winter is undoubtedly the time I spent working at Kitchener Community School last year, when I had the incredible opportunity to be a part of Santa's Workshop. This initiative aimed to create Christmas hampers for our students and their families by accepting donations including food, household items, toys, winter coats, and winter accessories.
But what made this experience truly enjoyable and heartwarming was the joyous atmosphere we created. Picture this: downstairs in the school, an array of toys and gifts were meticulously arranged, ready to be explored by our little shoppers... Continue reading
