Victoria Avenue Corridor Study and Functional Design

The City of Regina is advancing the planning phase of the Victoria Avenue Corridor Study and Functional Design Project to consider improvements along Victoria Avenue between Broad Street and Arcola Avenue, Victoria Avenue is an important transportation route identified in the Official Community Plan and Transportation Master Plan. It is also a priority area for higher-density development to support future growth, redevelopment and better connections between neighbourhoods. The project will focus on replacing aging underground infrastructure and pipes and look at way to improve how the corridor functions, looks and is accessed. The City will directly engage with property owners, businesses, residents and other interested groups and people to help inform the planning and design. This is a planning study for future roadway construction and upgrades. Construction will not take place for a few years.

Community participation is critical during the planning phase, because the feedback, perspectives, needs and priorities of those most affected by current conditions and future changes will help with decision-making. This engagement process will help ensure the corridor evolves in a way that balances infrastructure needs, future growth objectives, mobility requirements and community priorities.
