Regina Transit Master Plan
Consultation has concluded
The City of Regina is working on a plan for the future of our public transit system. The Regina Transit Master Plan will identify actions to guide short-, mid-, and long-term decision-making for Regina Transit to implement over the next 25 years.
We want to make sure transit is convenient, sustainable, and accessible for residents across the city. From how you use transit to what we can improve, we’re looking at all aspects of transit.
On May 4, 2022, City Council approved the Regina Transit Master Plan (RTMP) as a decision-making guide to help position Regina Transit for community and economic growth over the next 25 years. The comprehensive Plan will be transformative for Regina, making public transit a main transportation mode of choice to support an accessible and sustainable community.
The RTMP was developed with extensive community engagement, research on best practices from other municipalities, and input from key internal and external stakeholders.
Identified within the Plan are 45 actions for implementation, set out for the short-, mid- or long-term, so that Regina Transit can be adaptable to changing circumstances in our community. Short-term actions include more frequent service, new electric buses, upgraded fare technology and exploring the option of free transit for youth.
This Plan leads Regina Transit in a direction that is passenger-focused and modern, to keep up with projected growth. Mass transportation helps spur economic activity and attract businesses who rely on it for customers and employees. As the city population increases and with the rise in fuel prices, it is important that residents have affordable and sustainable transportation methods.

A key element of the Regina Transit Master Plan is the proposed transit routes. This tool contains an interactive map of the proposed transit routes. View a pdf version of the map that shows more details of each route.
We want your thoughts on the proposed routes. You can use the pins (at the top left of the interactive map) to show us what you like, what needs improvement, or anything else that you want us to consider in the final Regina Transit Master Plan. Your feedback is appreciated and will be reviewed as we finalize the proposed transit routes.
