Regina Transit Master Plan
The City of Regina is working on a plan for the future of our public transit system. The Regina Transit Master Plan will identify actions to guide short and long-term decision-making for Regina Transit and Paratransit to implement over the next 25 years.
We want to make sure transit is convenient, sustainable, and accessible for residents across the city. From how you use transit to what we can improve, we’re looking for input on all aspects of transit.
Help shape the Regina Transit Master Plan by sharing your experiences and views. There are many ways to participate - review the material on this page, ask questions, share your ideas, and take our survey! You can complete one of these actions or all of them! Sign up for newsletters and watch for future opportunities to provide feedback.
Take our survey by Tuesday, February 23. Feel free to continue adding ideas and questions right through until November.

Bella Oliver8 days agoNotify the bus drivers that there are riders wanting to transfer to their bus.
Pre-Covid, every morning I'd ride the 17 local route and need to transfer to the 40 at Superstore to go downtown. It was always stressful to see if the 40 was going to leave before the 17 got there. The routes were scheduled to be there at the same time. Some of the 40 drivers would be a bit later, and some early. Some drivers would know there were regular transfers, and some maybe didn't care. One particular driver would leave 1 minute early, as per his discretion. If there was a way to register our transfer requests, then in cases where we were only 15 seconds away, the bus could wait. Heck, it would be useful when we're getting off the local bus and hustling up to the main bus and he pulls away! This would also have been useful on the way home. Many times the 40 was early and was turning the corner as the 17 was pulling away. The 17 has times when it does the loop with no passengers so a few seconds won't make it late. Some of the considerate drivers would probably not mind.

1 Staggered times on similar bus routes (like 7+9) going N and W. 2. Sunday evening buses (I’ve had to stay with relatives due to late Sunday shifts across town). 3. Drivers side bus signs. 4. Airport bus!

There is a very busy bus stop on the south side of Quance between Coleman and Prince of Wales. It is the logical spot to get off if you need to go to the stores across the street but there is no crosswalk and you either need to get off earlier or later and walk farther, or hope you don’t get hit trying to dash across four lanes of traffic. I encourage every city councillor to take the bus to that stop, get off and try to cross the street.

Open up innovation and entrepreneurship. You want internet payment systems? Start a company and provide it rather than asking a government if they can tax others to pay for it. You want door to door service? Choose the private company that will offer it. If you want regional service/warm bus shelters/depots with coffee shops/tap payment/Ali Pay/VISA/Mastercard/cash/tokens/heated seats/luggage room/leg room/service to Westerra/outdoor payment methods/upper and lower case route lettering/route numbering/express systems/discount ultra low rates for standing only buses/commuter car parks/health facility dedicated routes/off peak hour service/school services for young children/more frequent cleaning/individual "bubble" areas for households/chargers for your phone/electronics/wi-fi/music/help to and from your doorstep/snow cleaning from your door to the bus/et cetera and so much more could all occur with private transport companies. We can have so much more than we do, allowing for the highest priced luxuries that you can think of to the cheapest prices basic level service. Tens of companies offering competitive prices and services to suit everyone's needs, rather than a one size fits all public model that offers a medium level of service that is too expensive for many and offers too little amenities for many as well. Let free the market and the dreams and hopes of all those who have commented can happen!
