Community Safety Zone Public Survey

City Council approved the creation of a Community Safety Zone (CSZ) in the Cathedral neighbourhood on April 10, 2024 as part of the Vision Zero Framework. The CSZ resulted in a reduced speed limit to 40 km/h in the area in August 2024. Since implementation, 85 per cent of drivers have decreased their speed by five per cent, from 42 km/h to 40 km/h. The rate of drivers yielding to pedestrians has increased by 13 per cent.
