Why We Engage

The City of Regina is committed to providing residents and stakeholders with meaningful opportunities to engage in the decision-making processes of the many projects and initiatives that take place in the city.

Our vision is "to be Canada's most vibrant, inclusive, attractive and sustainable community, where people live in harmony and thrive in opportunity."

Our approach to engagement is guided by the principles of the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2). Depending on the nature of the project, public engagement may include a range of levels for community participation:

  • Inform: Share accurate and unbiased information with the public to help them understand issues, possible options, opportunities and solutions.
  • Consult: Seek feedback from the public on analyses, alternatives or decisions.
  • Involve: Engage the public throughout the process to ensure their concerns and goals are understood and considered.
  • Collaborate: Work in partnership with the public on all aspects of decision-making, including developing options and selecting the preferred solution.

Be Heard Regina is an online platform where residents can share their views, follow project progress, subscribe to project updates and help shape City policies and decisions.
