Kinsmen Park South is set to undergo renewal work in 2025, pending budget approval. The City’s goal is to transform the park into an all-season destination for residents. Once complete, this renovation will meet the principles of the Recreation Master Plan, the Winter City Strategy, the Adapted Recreation Plan and will align with the new Accessible Playground Standards.
The proposed upgrades include a renewed and accessible playground and spray pad, a four-season, all-gender public washroom, seating area and landscaping, and a potential toboggan hill and pleasure skate. The City is also working closely with the Regina Ski Club to upgrade the existing cross-country ski trails by installing landforms and additional plant material to help capture snow for the trails and help naturalize the space.
