The City of Regina is updating the current Growth Plan. Regina is growing faster and differently than projected when the Official Community Plan (OCP) was first introduced in 2013. By 2051, Regina is projected to reach a population of 370,000. To prepare for this growth, the City is reviewing and updating its Growth Plan to:
Identify new areas for housing, employment and industrial development.
Support revitalization and redevelopment in existing neighbourhoods.
Align infrastructure and servicing needs with long-term growth.
Respond to evolving social, economic and environmental trends.
The Official Community Plan Growth Plan Review is a key initiative to guide future development, infrastructure and investment, ensuring Regina remains vibrant, inclusive and sustainable.

Updating our Growth Plan: City of Regina Official Community Plan has finished this stage
Administration launched a public-facing project webpage on Regina.ca.
The City engaged and presented the project overview to land developers, Indigenous Rights-holders, community service groups, construction industry representatives and other levels of government.
The City updated the Growth Plan scenarios and prepared options for accommodating anticipated growth to the year 2051.
September to October 2025

The City will engage with land developers, Indigenous Rights-holders, community service groups, construction industry representatives and other levels of government on the updated Growth Plan scenarios.
A survey will be sent to residents to gather general perspectives and feedback on shaping the long-term growth of Regina.
November to December 2025
