Phase 1: Vision & Design Now Complete
Planning and engagement work continues on the revitalization of Regina’s downtown and Scarth Street Mall.
Phase 1 of the project is now complete, following Regina City Council’s approval of changes to the Official Community Plan, confirming Scarth Street Mall as a pedestrian-only space.
The project will now move to Phase 2: Functional Design, which will focus on refining and adding more detail to the design. This phase includes more technical analysis and focused engagement with area residents, business owners, and other key stakeholders. The City also continues to explore options for improving downtown circulation, parking and drop-off areas to further support businesses and services in the area.
This is an exciting step in the revitalization of Scarth Street Mall, ensuring it is a welcoming, accessible and vibrant public gathering space that supports businesses and boosts the energy of Regina’s downtown.
Finalized Vision:
Scarth Street Mall is a unique urban public place within charming heritage facades, offering a welcoming space for relaxation, connection, and shared experiences throughout the year.
As a connector of major destinations, it is a corridor for commerce and culture, fostering a lively atmosphere that enriches our city and contributes to the vitality of Regina’s downtown.
