Summary

Planning for the redevelopment of the Regina Police Service (RPS) campus continues. In 2018, the City of Regina acquired the former Saskatchewan Transit Company (STC) bus depot and parking lots beside the current RPS Headquarters to create a larger, enhanced campus to better support the police service.

The project involves renovations to the existing RPS Headquarters and the former STC building as well as a new building to link the two facilities. The new building will include a new main public entrance as well as multi-purpose and community spaces. Check out the Site Plan.

As the RPS campus progresses, the City and RPS are seeking feedback on space for programs that will be accessed by the community as well as how the exterior of the property fits in with the community along Saskatchewan Drive, and at Osler Street and 11th Avenue. We are specifically interested in hearing from the immediate neighbouring communities but welcome input from the broader Regina public.

The City will invest approximately $44 million to complete the new RPS campus.

As well, the City also plans to redevelop the adjacent Municipal Justice Building (1770 Halifax Street) into a neighbourhood community centre and police training and fitness facility. This project includes preserving the heritage of the facility while designing space that will house a designated police fitness area, as well as specific community space for gatherings and recreation and creating a multi-purpose gymnasium that will be shared by the community and police.

Sign up for updates and check back for future opportunities to shape the final use and design of the space used by the community.
