Our family's journey into Regina's magical winter

Our family, not very used to the snow and such minus temperatures back in the home country, dove into the heart of Canadian winter for the first time couple of years ago. Well, I would say, even the tales of bone-chilling cold from the locals couldn't prepare us for the reality that awaited.

As the first snowflakes fell, our children were so much excited. And even several winters here, their enthusiasm and excitement still remain and still sparks with each snowfall. They love to come home from the outside after the different winter activities (mainly sledding) and have a hot chocolate together with the whole family. They are definitely not happy when asked to shovel the driveway, but it happens :D

To tell the truth, personally for me, the cold was a shocking revelation. I vividly recall my eyelashes and nose hairs getting frosted and frozen – a strangely fascinating sensation.

Yet, despite the biting cold, I would say that there's a peculiar beauty in Regina’s Winder Wonderland. I think it’s the magic of a winter that turns ordinary moments into extraordinary memories for our family. And for me, enjoying the snow as an adult with my kids is a joy I never experienced growing up, often feeling jealous as I watched such scenes in movies. Winter in Regina has become such an amazing adventure for our family when we get cold frosty hands, but the warm hearts.
