3 winter surprises from a new comer

Experiencing my first winter in Regina after moving from Vietnam has been eye-opening.

Contrary to my imagination, snow doesn't fall every day, but when it does, it transforms the landscape into a winter wonderland. The real challenge, however, is not just the snow but the biting cold carried by the wind, which is a stark contrast to what I anticipated.

One pleasant surprise has been the warmth of the people in Regina. The community, exemplified by organizations like the Regina Food Bank and Al Ritche community association, extends a helping hand to newcomers like me. I found support from them when I first arrived, providing a sense of belonging. Engaging as a volunteer at the Regina Food Bank not only allowed me to give back but also offered valuable connections and a chance to be part of the community.

In Regina, it's not only about braving the winter; it's about the enchantment of a child's first play in the snow and the heartwarming connections that make the cold days more bearable. As my family and I engage more with Regina, we discover a sense of belonging and community warmth that goes beyond the chilly winds, creating unexpected joys in our winter journey.
