Ripplinger Park

The City of Regina is considering Ripplinger Park as a site for an outdoor skating facility to serve the Arcola East area south of Arcola Ave. A separate rink site is being planned by the developer of the Towns Neighbourhood to serve residents north of Arcola Ave.

This site would include a boarded rink with lighting, a warm-up shelter and an additional non-boarded rink for recreational skating. The boarded rink would also have asphalt surfacing and basketball hoops to provide recreational fun in the summer.

The City is developing these sites to ensure we are following the City’s recreation master plan, which recommends that there is either a boarded or non-boarded skating rink within 3km of most households. Right now, the Creeks and Greens on Gardiner neighbourhoods' nearest outdoor rink is 5km from these neighbourhoods.

Ripplinger Park is being considered as it has a large open flat area, with nearby street parking. This park can accommodate a rink and maintain open space for existing user groups.
