The City of Regina is exploring potential options to address affordability for low-income property taxpayers and water utility customers. Some municipalities across Canada have already implemented affordability programs to assist low-income households. Regina is considering similar programs as we continue to strive to be an inclusive, attractive and sustainable community, where all our residents can thrive, regardless of income.
We are interested to know whether Regina residents would support the implementation of affordability programs for low-income property owners and water utility customers. We’re seeking feedback on who should be eligible for potential affordability programs, what type of program you feel will be the most beneficial and how potential programs should be funded.
We invite all Regina property owners and water utility customers to participate. Your feedback will be shared with City Council to help make decisions on property tax and water utility affordability programs this fall.
