Fall 2025 Construction Begins

Fall 2025 marks the start of construction on the Indoor Aquatics Facility (IAF).

Set to open in 2029, this will be Regina’s first public year-round pool to include waterslides, a wave pool and a lazy river. These features are integrated with state-of-the-art aquatic sports pools with the capacity to host national athletic competitions. The new facility will also add space for swimming lessons and provide residents and visitors of all ages and abilities with access to fun, relaxing and healthy community leisure activities all year long.

The Indoor Aquatics Facility will be located just east of the Lawson Aquatic Centre and Fieldhouse, across from Mosaic Stadium and the REAL District. The Lawson Aquatic Centre and Fieldhouse will remain open as much as possible during construction to provide access to recreation programs. Construction updates and parking maps will be posted on the new website.

Regina City Council approved an updated budget of $313.6 million, including $28.5 million for the geothermal heating plant, in July 2025. The scope and design of the project were informed by a series of public engagements, feasibility studies, a Community Advisory Committee and the Catalyst Committee on recreation between 2021 and 2025.

Now that the consultation phase is over and the project is fully approved, the Be Heard public survey page will be closing. Moving forward, you will find all further updates and details on City of Regina | Indoor Aquatics Facility

Thank you for your interest, patience and ongoing support for this important community project.
